How to spot a trend reversal early

Catching the turn of a trend gives the best reward to risk, and the most false signals. This lecture shows how to spot a reversal early and wait for the right confirmation.

Early warning signs

  • Price reaches a higher-timeframe support or resistance.
  • The trend makes a weak new high (or low) and quickly fails.
  • Candles get smaller, wicks get longer.
  • Momentum indicators such as RSI show divergence.

Confirmation: structure changes

In an uptrend, the reversal is confirmed when price makes a lower high and breaks the last higher low (change of character). In a downtrend, the opposite. Until structure changes, a pullback is still just a pullback.

A safer entry

Wait for the first pullback after the break of structure. Enter at that lower high (or higher low) with the stop loss beyond it, and target the next level in the new direction.

  • Kamzor naya high, chhoti candles, lambi wicks: warning.
  • Confirmation: structure toote (lower high + higher low ka break).

How do you identify a trend reversal?

Look for price at a higher-timeframe level, a failed new high or low, and then a break of market structure in the other direction.

What is the difference between a pullback and a reversal?

A pullback keeps the trend's structure (higher lows in an uptrend). A reversal breaks it.

Which patterns signal a trend reversal?

Head and shoulders, double tops and bottoms, quasimodo and wedges are common reversal patterns.

Is RSI divergence a reversal signal?

It is a warning that momentum is fading. Wait for price to confirm with a break of structure.

Should I trade every reversal signal?

No. Trade only reversals at important higher-timeframe levels and with confirmation; most counter-trend signals fail.

Which timeframe is best to spot reversals?

Spot the level on H4 or Daily and confirm the change of structure on H1 or M15.
