Lesson notes

Filters that remove weak trades

  • Higher-timeframe agreement: take only corrections that line up with the higher-timeframe trend.
  • Location: only at strong levels, not in the middle of nowhere.
  • Correction quality: a calm, overlapping correction is healthier than a violent one.
  • Session: avoid quiet hours and the minutes around big news.

Accuracy vs reward

Every filter removes trades. Check in your backtest that the filters raise the result, not just the win rate. A higher win rate with much smaller targets can earn less.

Questions

How can I increase my trading accuracy?

Add filters such as higher-timeframe agreement, strong locations and session timing, and confirm in a backtest that they help.

Is a higher win rate always better?

No. A higher win rate with smaller rewards can earn less; look at win rate and reward to risk together.

What is a trading filter?

An extra condition a setup must meet before you take it.

How do I test if a filter works?

Backtest the strategy with and without the filter on the same data and compare the results.

Why are quiet sessions risky?

Moves are small and spreads may be wider, so setups often fail to reach targets.

Should I trade every correction?

No. Trade only corrections that meet all your filters.
