Best time to scalp forex and Gold in Pakistan and India

"Which time is best to trade?" is one of the most common questions. The honest answer: the time that suits you and your strategy. This lesson shows how to choose it.

Sessions in Pakistan time (approximate)

For the full timetable with summer/winter changes and news times, see forex market timings in Pakistan and India. The short version for scalpers:

  • Asian (Tokyo): about 5:00 AM – 2:00 PM. Usually quieter for Gold and EURUSD.
  • London: about 12:00 PM – 9:00 PM in summer, 1:00 PM – 10:00 PM in winter.
  • New York: about 5:00 PM – 2:00 AM in summer, 6:00 PM – 3:00 AM in winter.
  • London–New York overlap: about 5:00–9:00 PM in summer, 6:00–10:00 PM in winter. Often the most active hours for Gold and USD pairs.

India (IST) is 30 minutes ahead of Pakistan time. Exact session hours differ slightly between sources.

Choose by strategy, not by rumour

Breakout and scalping strategies need movement, so the London open and the overlap suit them. Range strategies can work in quieter Asian hours. Backtest your strategy by session and trade the hours where it works best.

Times to be careful

Big US news (around 5:30–6:30 PM Pakistan time) and the daily rollover at 5:00 PM New York time (about 2:00–3:00 AM Pakistan time), when spreads widen.

Khulasa (Roman Urdu / Hindi)

  • London: ~12–9 PM (garmi), 1–10 PM (sardi) Pakistan time.
  • Overlap: ~5–9 PM (garmi), 6–10 PM (sardi): sab se zyada movement.
  • India Pakistan se 30 minute aage.
  • Apni strategy ko session ke hisaab se backtest karein.

Questions

What is the best time to scalp Gold in Pakistan?

The London–New York overlap, about 5:00–9:00 PM in summer and 6:00–10:00 PM in winter Pakistan time, when Gold moves most and spreads are tight.

Is the London open good for scalping?

Yes. The first two to three hours of London often bring the day's first strong move, which suits breakout scalping.

Is the Asian session good for scalping?

It is quieter for most pairs and Gold; it can suit range strategies on Asian pairs, not breakouts.

Should I scalp during news?

Better not. Spreads widen and price can jump past your stop; wait until the first minutes after big US news have passed.

When should a scalper stop trading?

Late New York hours and the daily rollover (about 2:00–3:00 AM Pakistan time), when volume drops and spreads widen.

Which session is best for my strategy?

Backtest it session by session, for example in a replay simulator, and trade only the hours where it works.
