In this lecture
- What the quasimodo pattern is
- Why it can offer good reward to risk
- Using it as a scalper or day trader
Lesson notes
How a bearish QM forms
- Price makes a high (the left shoulder).
- Then a higher high (the head), which takes out the liquidity above the first high.
- Then a low that breaks below the previous low: a lower low, the first sign that structure has changed.
- Price pulls back up towards the level of the left shoulder: the QM level.
The bullish QM is the exact mirror after a downtrend.
The entry
The classic entry is a sell limit or a confirmation candle at the QM level (the left shoulder), with the stop loss above the head. Because the stop is beyond the extreme and the target is the next low or level, the reward-to-risk can be large.
Filters that help
- QM at a higher-timeframe supply or demand zone.
- A clear break of the low (strong candle), not a small wick.
- Avoid trading it right before high-impact news.
Khulasa (Roman Urdu / Hindi)
- Bearish QM: high, phir higher high, phir lower low.
- Entry QM level (left shoulder) par, SL head ke oopar.
- Higher timeframe zone par QM zyada mazboot.
- Bullish QM iska ulta.
Questions
What is a quasimodo pattern in trading?
A reversal pattern: a high, a higher high, then a break to a lower low, with entry when price returns to the level of the first high.
What is the QM level?
The level of the left shoulder, the first high (or low) before the head, where traders look for the entry.
Is the quasimodo the same as head and shoulders?
They look similar, but in the QM the low between the shoulders is broken before entry, so structure has already changed.
Where is the stop loss in a QM trade?
Beyond the head, the extreme high of a bearish QM or the extreme low of a bullish QM.
Which timeframe is best for the quasimodo pattern?
Scalpers use M5–M15 with the higher timeframe for direction; swing traders use H1–H4.
Is the quasimodo pattern part of Smart Money Concepts?
It uses the same ideas: liquidity grab above a high and a change of structure.
