Forex demo account in Pakistan: how to open one and practise for free

Every trader should start on a demo account. Here is how to open one in MetaTrader 5 in a few minutes, how to use it properly, and what "trading without investment" really means in Pakistan.

Quick answer

A forex demo account is a free practice account with virtual money and live prices. In Pakistan you can open one in a few minutes in MetaTrader 5 (File → Open an Account) or on a regulated broker's website, with no deposit and no investment. It is the safest way to learn trading, but demo profits are not real money, and anyone who promises real earnings "without investment" is very likely running a scam.

What a demo account is

A demo account works exactly like a real trading account: the same platform, the same charts and live prices, the same buy and sell buttons. The only difference is that the balance is virtual. You can lose it all and nothing happens to your money, which is why every beginner should start here. Read forex trading for beginners for why Dr. Qazi always teaches demo first.

Is a demo account legal and free in Pakistan?

Yes. A demo account involves no money, no deposit and no transfer abroad, so it is free and carries no legal or financial risk. Real-money forex trading is a different question: read is forex trading legal in Pakistan and India before you open a live account.

How to open a demo account in MetaTrader 5 (step by step)

  1. Install MetaTrader 5 on your PC, Android or iPhone from the official MetaQuotes website or your phone's app store.
  2. Open MT5 and go to File → Open an Account (on mobile: Settings → New account).
  3. Search for a broker's server, or choose the MetaQuotes demo server, and select Open a demo account.
  4. Enter your name and email, choose the account type, the virtual deposit (use a realistic amount such as $500 or $1,000) and leverage.
  5. MT5 creates the account and logs you in. Save the login number and password it shows.
  6. Open a chart of EURUSD or Gold (XAUUSD), right-click → Trading → New order and place your first practice trade with a stop loss.

Many brokers' demo accounts expire after 30–90 days of no use; simply open a new one. If you later trade live, open the demo on the same broker you plan to use, so spreads and contract sizes match. See how to choose a regulated broker.

A 30-day demo plan

  1. Week 1: learn the platform: orders, stop loss, take profit, lot size. Trade only 0.01 lot.
  2. Week 2: pick one strategy from the free Price Action course and write its rules.
  3. Week 3: trade only those rules, in one session (see market timings in Pakistan), with 1% risk per trade.
  4. Week 4: review every trade in R. Keep a journal. Only consider a small live account if you followed your rules and the results are positive over at least 50–100 trades.

Treat the demo balance as if it were real. Practising with a $100,000 demo and big lots teaches habits that will empty a real account. To practise many months of charts in a few days, use a replay simulator.
